East Brisbane State School's Future Remains Uncertain

East Brisbane State School is a public primary school next door to the Gabba Stadium.  Since the Queensland government announced the rebuild of the stadium in 2021, the school community has been faced with uncertainty, threat of closure, lies and tokenistic consultation.  Even though the plan for the stadium has been buried, the school community still has no certainty about the school's future.  

So after three years of turmoil and with a Queensland election looming , Rethink the Gabba asked the candidates that are vying for local votes about the future of East Brisbane State School.  We sent the same letter to current Member for South Brisbane Dr Amy MacMahon (Greens), Labor Candidate Dr Barbara O'Shea, and as the LNP had not yet announced a candidate, we sent the letter to Queensland's Shadow Education Minister, Dr Christian Rowan.  Their responses are as at 13 September 2024 are as per the below:
